Feeling hesitant to start live streaming for your coaching or service business? You're not alone. Here’s why 2026 is the perfect year to get out of your head and hit “Go Live,” plus practical tips from Tanya Smith to set you up for success.

Why Live Streaming is the Low-Competition, High-Connection Opportunity for Coaches

Let’s be honest: video can feel intimidating. Most coaches worry about looking unpolished, not having the “right” gear, or sounding awkward on camera. But according to Tanya Smith, now is exactly the time to embrace imperfection and start streaming.

While the internet is saturated with perfectly edited reels, AI-generated content, and slick podcasts, live video remains one of the few places people can still see–and connect with–the real human behind the brand. Tanya Smith shares that live streaming is “as close as you’re going to get to a real-life stage without physically being there.” It’s a chance to be messy, candid, and relatable.

Why does this matter? Because viewers are tired of clones and automation—they want authenticity. They want to know if you’re someone worth trusting before they invest in your programs or services. Live video does something polished content can’t: it builds “parasocial bonds”—that feeling your audience gets when they know you, like you, and are eager to buy from or refer you, even before you meet.

Action Tip:
Don’t overthink perfection. Go live, dog barks and all. Authenticity wins connection, and connection grows your authority at triple the speed of pre-recorded content.

No More Tech Excuses: Why It’s Easier Than Ever to Go Live

Remember when “going pro” meant booking a studio, hiring a crew, and handing over thousands for a three-minute video? Forget all that. Tanya Smith reminds us that today, “your phone, decent lighting, and clear sound” are the only must-haves to start. Most platforms (think LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Substack, and even Amazon) want you to go live—and are actively rewarding those who do by boosting their engagement.

Live videos aren’t getting lost in the algorithm shuffle, either. Tanya Smith cites stats showing Facebook Live gets triple the engagement of regular posts, while even LinkedIn Live outpaces uploads. It’s not about competing with influencers; it’s about having conversations with your real audience.

Action Tip:
Start where you are. Your iPhone and a quiet corner are enough for now. Upgrade later if you enjoy it and want to scale.

Video Is the Sales Tool Your Audience Wants—Even If You Dislike “Selling”

If selling on camera gives you the chills, you’re not alone. Tanya Smith says: don’t be shy about marketing your programs. Consumers are being trained to buy through video. Whether it’s TikTok Shop, Amazon Live, or QVC’s digital reboots, audiences are purchasing in real time, right from a live stream.

The reality? People who watch live content are 40% more likely to buy than those consuming static posts. Even if your audience is small, a highly engaged community converts far better than passively scrolling strangers.

Action Tip:
Shift your mindset from “selling” to “inviting to work together.” Mix education, encouragement, real stories, and an ask—your people want to know how you can help them.

Embrace the Four E’s: Engage with Purpose

It’s normal to worry about coming off as “salesy” or self-promoting. Tanya Smith suggests balancing your content using the Four E’s: Educate, Entertain, Encourage, and Elevate your audience. Whether you’re answering questions, telling a story, or simply sharing what you’ve learned, going live keeps you visible and builds trust.

And here’s a reality check: live streaming is a $113 billion market (and growing). According to Tanya Smith, waiting another year means entering a much noisier space. Don’t be the coach looking back, wishing you’d started sooner.

Final Thoughts: Start Now, No More Excuses

If you’re waiting on confidence to miraculously appear, stop. Confidence comes from competence, which only happens when you actually go live. Remember, your audience doesn’t want a robot—they want you, flaws and all.

So, set a date. Start simple. Share something valuable. And embrace the fact that 2026 is your year for real, human connection (and real results) on video.

Ready to become the coach clients can’t wait to watch? Take a cue from Tanya Smith: “Your voice is your superpower. Your story matters, and someone is waiting to hear it–from you.”

Transcript:
(00:14) Hey. Hey everybody, welcome back. It is 2026. I can't believe it. We are in season, we're going to call this season nine, although it's probably like season 50, but just based on my numbering system, that's where we are today. Season nine and this is episode one. It's official. We have entered a new year.
(00:51) There's a new phase. There's some new stuff that's coming. But today, I just wanted to settle in and talk a little bit about live streaming because 2026 is now your time. There's no more excuses. And I wanted to share three specific reasons why I think this is the right time for you and for your business to adopt live streaming as part of your marketing strategy. So, super excited.
(01:20) Thank you. Tech Troublemaker said, "You are always in season though." Of course, you know, I like how you think, Tech Troublemaker. And um that is my friend Roy Richardson, who by the way, we need to talk, man. I need to get you on my show. I saw something that you were doing and that you're up to related to live streaming that I think is going to be awesome and amazing.
(01:45) Um and so definitely want to reach out and connect. Look, if you're joining for the very first time, I want to welcome you and wish you nothing but good and positive things. I hope that you take away at least one nugget from tonight. And what I want you to do, because you may not know how to do this, is to type in newbie.
(02:07) Now, for my folks who have watched before, you've been with us, you've seen even one, maybe a few live streams with us, you're going to type in OG. So, here's what it looks like. It's going to be newbie and Oog. That's what you pop into the chat. So, I am looking forward to see who our folks are that are here that are joining us for the first time.
(02:29) Now, one thing I'm getting ready to do is I'm going to make sure I add my folks over on Substack because my Substack folks are a little bit more special in that we don't get a chance to really physically see you as far as your comments. I can see you over in a another chat screen, but I am unable to view or put you on screen unless I do a lot of workarounds, which I'll teach you how to do this, right? Because some of you are going to really go all in on Substack this year.
(02:58) I just have this feeling it's been happening. The migration is occurring and I've seen a lot of people who have been moving from other sites and platforms over to that space. So, it's going to be interesting. And if you are live streaming already, I want you to type in an L. Okay? Type in an L. I guess I need to do it this way so it shows up properly.
(03:21) Type in an L if you're already live streaming. And if you're not live streaming yet, maybe by the end of this time, you will have some nuggets that will convince you that this is a good time for you to adopt this into your strategy. Okay. So, what I'm doing right now is I'm welcoming some folks in. Thank you. Over there on Substack.
(03:41) Alicia Naomi is joining me and she's saying that she is already live streaming, which is awesome. Michelle O'Neal, Tech Troublemaker. I got lots of folks that are in my family, my community that are already doing some lives. But I want to talk to you again about why this year is your year. So whether you've been live streaming or you're thinking about adopting it, I think this is the time. This is the time.
(04:09) And I'm going to explain why. So I did not introduce myself. Well, I'll just do that briefly so we can get into the content. But I am your host, video coach Tanya Smith. I am the CEO and founder of Get Noticed with Video LLC. And I also run Stream Like a Boss TV, which is where we help coaches and other service providers to create, connect, and convert with live stream strategies.
(04:35) Video that builds trust and brings in clients. And so, I want to talk a little bit about that. I encourage you to grab a notepad and a pen because today we're going to break down a few things. And if you've got questions, ask because I'm here. It's one of the favorite things for me to be able to answer questions live.
(04:56) So definitely make sure that you ask if you have any. Now, we tend to be a little interactive, so I'll provide some instructions, you know, like type in a one, type in a fire emoji, and that type of thing, just to know that you're here, you're with me, and I'm with you. the real numbers behind a $113 billion live stream market.
(05:16) That's what we're going to be talking about. We're going to talk about some numbers. We're going to talk about why live content gets 24 times more engagement. And we're going to talk about the road map to get you started because many of you might be stalling right now thinking that you need something that you probably already have. Seriously.
(05:37) So, we need to talk about that. And by the way, um, in the near future, the show is going to be brought to you by the live stream authority system. It's a course that I'm working on and hopefully we'll be able to launch that in February to help those of you who are serious about learning how to leverage this as a marketing tool.
(05:57) It's going to be a step-by-step program to help you to go from live streaming beginner to client attracting machine. So, super excited. If you want early access, I want you to type in the word authority. Authority in the DMs or you can type them right here in the comments. I'm paying attention now. Let me know where you're watching from.
(06:17) Type in your hash OG or newbie, whichever path you fall into. If you've been with us before, you're hashtag OG. If this is your first time ever watching, newbie. And what we're going to do on the other side of this very short video is we'll be back and we'll show you or share with you those three key points so that I can hopefully convince you to incorporate this type of marketing into your strategy for your business for 2026.
(06:48) All right. So, we will see you on the other side of a short short video and I am looking forward to talking with you more about really incorporating and integrating streaming into your business model. All right, here we go. >> Take the crown. Lift your hustle. Don't back down. Build your crew. Make it thrive. We go live.
(07:26) >> All right, y'all. Okay, so we want to talk a little bit today about this little topic right here, and it is the fact that 2026 is your year to embrace live streaming. I am super excited about this topic because I really do believe that it is a thing. I know a lot of people talk about podcasting and they talk about blogging and they talk about there's a whole lot of other things that we talk about, right? This is yet another media and I want to share with you uniquely why I think this uniquely is a standout
(08:03) opportunity for all of us. And I'm seeing some folks that are in the chat that I definitely want to say hello to. So, let me do this. It's been a minute since I've used my eCam Live, which is my favorite platform for those of you who like to know what you using today. Well, I'm actually using eCam Live.
(08:23) And this is my absolute favorite platform that I use. It's on a Mac computer only, though. So, if you have a PC, you'll have to find something else. I do have options that we'll teach, we'll talk about this year as well. But, this is my favorite. So, I'm going to pop up in the comments and make sure I get some folks in here. Um, let's see.
(08:40) Yay, it did pop up properly. Yes, live streaming is the closest to authentic you can get in an AI generated world. Roy, why are you stealing my thunder? Why are you stealing my thunder? Let me give you some hype because that is one of the key points that I definitely want to talk about.
(09:01) I see Michelle O'Neal in the house letting me know that you're a hash OG. Yes, you are also a Stream Bosses Academy member. So, love to see you always. Andy O'Brien is typing in authority. Thank you, sir. I will make sure you're one of the first to know about the course because it is coming in a few weeks. Um, and look, learn live streaming.
(09:23) Hey, it's John Lacy from Australia. I need to fix this so I can get your full Let me see if I can fix this at all. Ah. Oh, it's all good. If you do have a PC, you need to buy a Mac. See, I wasn't starting anything. Roy, I know you're starting something, but I wasn't going to start that. I know. I know. Okay, so here we go.
(09:48) Let's do this. Um, I want to pop up tip number one. And I just lost something right there. There we go. I found it. Okay, I see Triple OG in the house. What's up? Nice to see you. Okay, here's the thing. This is what we want to talk about. There's three key reasons why I'm going to share with you. I have a couple of bonus reasons, too.
(10:14) But there's three reasons why I think this is really the time. And one of the things Roy pretty much touched on, right? But if I had to put a put this into a one-s sentence formula, it would be that live streaming equals low competition plus high con connection. So live streaming equals low competition plus high connection. What do I mean by that? What does that mean? U he said blocks ears.
(10:47) While the creator space is flooded today with faceless reals, AI cloned videos, polished podcast. Live streaming continues to remain human. It can often be unscripted. It is very, very real. It's in real time. So, if anything happens right now, some of you heard my dog bark just a little bit ago. If anything happens, the UPS guy is showing up.
(11:20) Amazon person is stopping by again, ringing the doorbell, dropping some stuff. Uh, babies running through. I've actually had that happen on a show before. Whatever is happening in the moment, it's real and it's authentic and it's connecting with people on a whole different level. You don't have to ask, "Hey, is that real or is that a clone?" Because live streaming is live.
(11:46) Like this is me in real time. This is what you see is what you get. Now, the really cool thing is that you can make it produced. You can make it polished and professional the way that I do and the way that many of my friends do, but you don't necessarily have to do it that way. As a matter of fact, when you go live and you're less polished and you're more transparent and you don't have all the specialty lights and all of those things, you tend to get a lot more engagement.
(12:16) I know this because I've experimented with it. Now, it doesn't keep me from, you know, going unpolished often, but I do mix that in as well because of the transparency. And the fact is that people are looking for more human connection and interaction now than they ever were before. So the high connection value is one of the biggest advantages of going live and it's something the only closer thing you can get to this to speaking through a live stream opportunity is if you were on stage.
(12:56) This is as close as it's gonna get when it's virtual. Okay? When you're live and talking to people in real time. That's very different than doing produced videos and doing faceless marketing as a lot of people are starting doing and and the AI clones which again I am learning how to do all of that too and and some of it I like and some of it I'm a little like eh it's a little cringy but there's never going to be anything that replaces you uniquely you authentic you genuine you connecting with other people in real
(13:29) time so I'm seeing folks who are here I'm looking on Substack right now. I'm seeing D. What's up? It's live. I am live. Curtis is in the house. Good afternoon to you as well. So, there is nothing like the opportunity to be live. D says, "You have inspired me to do more live streaming." Thank you.
(13:52) I'm glad to hear it because I feel like people need more of you. Like the real you, not the cloned you. They need more of you. You can have some of that other stuff, too, but we need each other. We need real interaction and real connection. And if you agree with me, I want you to put a heart emoji in the chat.
(14:14) If you're feeling like, "Hey, I want more heart connections with other people." Type a heart in the chat. Now, here's the thing. Most coaches, we're sitting out because we think that we're late or you think it's too much. But the truth is that live streaming is still very underutilized. Very underutilized. And there's so many different ways that you can use it.
(14:39) So live content is starting to grow fast. Viewers watched 32.5 billion hours of live content in 2024. Yes, I went and I checked the stats. So we're talking about billion with a B. Up 12% from the year before. But the supply of live creators is still right now in this moment as we're talking about this still relatively low.
(15:07) So is anybody getting alarm bells that are going off like ding ding ding opportunity? Opportunity is knocking. Live streams allow for what researchers like to call I'm going to give you a word. This is a phrase actually parasocial bonds. What? What's she saying? Parasocial bonds. What this is is real time interaction creating the kind of trust that you can't script or automate.
(15:38) It's like this. It's like, let me give you a perfect example. I was at the CVS. I don't know if any of you have a CVS drugstore, but I was at a CVS and someone popped up like in my periphery and she was trying to get my attention and I was like, who is this? And and I just waved at her, you know, carefully because I'm like, I don't know.
(16:02) And people are weird these days, so who is this? And she approached me and she said, I know that I've seen you before. I I think I'm I'm watching your YouTube channel. And I was like, that's cool. That's awesome. But she started asking me questions about my kids and you know because these are things that I share.
(16:21) I share a little bit of personal stuff inside of my live streams in addition to the pro stuff. Yeah. Because I want you to know that I'm a real live person and so she felt like she knew me. We just got into a conversation asking how each other was doing. I mean, this is the type of thing that parasocial bonds can create when you're doing something that is with authenticity, genuine connection, and compassion for other people.
(16:50) There are other ways that you can use lives as well. We'll talk a little bit about that and we'll do a whole show on different forms of live streams, but I just want to touch on the fact that the bonding aspect of this is so critical and it's such a beautiful thing right now in these times when again we need other people.
(17:13) We do we need community. So coaches who live stream consistently build authority three times faster because of the natural credibility that comes with unscripted teaching and interaction. Now let me talk a little bit just briefly about this scripted versus unscripted thing cuz cuz look you see me doing like changing cameras and all that kind of fun stuff and I can pop things up on screen.
(17:41) Let me see what else can I pop up on screen that'll be cool. Let me give you a little love. We can do all kinds of fun things with it. But again, it's not necessarily about you doing all these fun things. It truly is about you simply speaking about what you know. If it weren't for the fact that I felt confident at this point after having done this now for several years and being very consistent and disciplined, I don't know if I would necessarily show up on camera either.
(18:15) I had to build a competence muscle in order to become more confident. So, if you're thinking, "Oh, but I need to be confident before I can get on camera." Keep in mind that that comes later, like the confidence doesn't come out of the gate. I didn't get up on a camera and say, "Hey, I'm I'm just doing great on this camera right now.
(18:36) " No, actually, I was a person who hated it. I said, "Don't ever put me behind a camera." Like, "Put me really behind the camera, but not in front of the camera." Right? I used to say that. But the more competent, the more consistent you are with doing lives, the more disciplined you are with showing up for yourself and for other people, the more competent you become.
(19:01) And that builds your confidence muscle. Okay? So, yes, I teach about structuring. Yes, I teach about workflows and systems and automating and all of those things, but in the end it boils down to you simply making the decision that you're going to do it. So, I hope by the end of this time you make a decision and say, "Yes, Tanya, I'm going to try it because we have no more excuses.
(19:29) All the platforms are there." Look, that's that's going to be my next thing in a second. Let me put this on up here because I think this is such an important point that Roy is sharing. It is such an outofbody experience to meet someone who has only met you through YouTube. It's so funny that you say that, Roy, because I remember at Podfest when I spoke last year, which by the way, I know a lot of my friends are going to be speaking next week, so I'm sending you love and hearts and all the things. I will not be there this
(20:01) year, but I spoke last year and it was so interesting, so much fun to meet people. It was like an out-of- body experience that I felt like I already knew that like we were family because of the live stream because we've been here, right? But seeing you in person and being able to give you a hug, it was second to none.
(20:23) Being able to high-five you in real time, that was awesome. But I get the beauty of the blessing of being able to have that kind of relationship because I've connected with you here because we're right now building our relationship. So I hope that I can see each and every one of you who might fall into my path this year.
(20:49) I hope that we actually get to have a real high five and a real hug. But if not, we're just gonna stay connected right here. Okay. So coaches who, let me repeat that last one, who live stream consistently, you get to build authority three times faster because of the natural credibility that comes with the unscripted and with the teaching and the interaction that you have.
(21:17) So if you're ready to connect instead of just creating, I want you to type a fire emoji cuz this is our time. This is our time. Now, I'm going to give you number two because you might not be ready just yet to put your fire emoji in here. Let me give you number two. Here's the second reason why I think this is so important. It's never been easier.
(21:43) You're like, what? It's never been easier to go live. You don't have to have a bunch of fancy gear. You don't have to have the expensive software. You don't even have to have a studio setup. You don't have to go through a lot of the things that many of us who are OGs for real when it comes to this. You don't have to go through a lot of the things we went through.
(22:06) When I first I remember I think I paid somewhere around $2500 to $3,000 to go to this place. I won't even I'm not going to call them out because they might still be doing business right now and I don't want to make it sound like it's petty, but there was a company that I paid this money for to go and do a video bio. It was just a biography of me and it lasted maybe three minutes and I paid all this money and it took me all day to do the shoot.
(22:40) Literally, I had to find all these different outfits and then I had to um get a lot of the little things like accessories and things that I wanted to have in the shoot. And I had to make sure I drove to the studio, which there are a lot more in-person podcast studios these days, which is pretty cool that they were making a comeback.
(23:01) But this particular studio was like an hour and a half away. So, I had to drive there. I had to sit with the scripting team and write out the script and then this was for a five minute video y'all and it took all day. We don't have to do that anymore. And frankly, it's one of the reasons why I decided I was doing live streaming instead of produce video because I love that we can literally get on the phone.
(23:28) We can get on our phone, go live, and be done with it. We have our real interaction. We share what we need to say. We get that message across and that becomes the platform and then we're out and I don't have to worry about driving anywhere to do it and I don't have to worry about spending thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars.
(23:53) Now, what I will say is that if you at some point really take this thing seriously and you start to do more live streaming and more video recording and you do all the things for marketing your business that you know you'll probably ultimately do, yeah, you're going to want to up level, right? You're going to want to upscale and you're going to want to invest smart, right, into the right gear and platforms and devices and all the things for you that make it simpler.
(24:21) But the goal ultimately is simply to have the conversation. Never forget that it's the connection that is the win. It's not the fact that you have all the fancy lights and all the bells and whistles. It literally is the connection you're making that is the big win. And I want you to have more big wins. So, it's never been easier. platforms are literally rewarding you for showing up live.
(24:51) LinkedIn Live is getting far more comments than regular uploaded videos. I'm seeing a number that says 24 times. I don't know. I don't necessarily see that in my LinkedIn stats, but that's what the stats say. Facebook Live receives three times more engagement than traditional post. Even though Facebook is acting like they don't want us there anymore since they're removing your live stream after 30 days, which I still think is just nuts. I don't understand that logic.
(25:20) But hey, whatever. YouTube Substack, here we are. We're still on Facebook, too. But you don't need fancy gear. You don't need the expensive software. You don't need a studio setup. your phone, decent lighting, and clear sound are the key items that you need in order to do the lives.
(25:42) And the algorithms do still favor live streams, even on Meta, even on Facebook, because it keeps people engaged longer, which means more organic reach for your brand even without ads. What? Yes, I said that. For those of you who are like, "Oh my god, I got to do ads. my organic reach continues to stay balanced and continues to do what it needs to do for me in spite of not doing ads all the time.
(26:11) Am I going to add ads to my strategy this year? Yes, I am. But I also understand the continuous power of being able to do live streaming because guess what? Number three in a second is gonna share some additional information with you about the selling aspects of live stream. So I definitely want to talk about that.
(26:32) So we are in the most accessible and platform supported era of live streaming ever. So if you decide I can't do it because I don't have whatever it is that you're thinking you don't have, you're probably wrong. Like you probably have that thing. If you're worried that you don't have the right computer, if you're worried that you don't have the right platform, if you're worried that you don't have the right camera, if there's something that you're worried, you probably have already invested in a super expensive phone and that phone is sufficient for you to
(27:06) get started. So, I just don't want you to make any more excuses. I think this is the time for you to really see an opportunity to connect with your audience. The people that you are meant to transform and make an impact for. Those people are looking for you. What better way to show up than to be connected through community via a live stream, via live video where they can real time interact with you.
(27:37) So, let me take a look real quick here. Yes. And D said, "Leaning into lives." Thank you. Yes, D. Okay. Just finished a live before joining. Thank you. I love it, y'all. Curtis, thank you for the heart. Yes, Allison, thank you for joining. There's some comments I want to pop up on screen real quick here.
(28:01) Let's do this, too. Um, yes. Roy said, "Meeting your heroes and finding they are just as amazing in person like Tanya is another level, too." Hey, I think it's another level as well to meet you, Roy. You're amazing. I love ecam live camp. I know. I think it's going to be in the UK this year, so I may not make it this year, but I will be back.
(28:29) Um, John says, "Even just investing in a little bit of gear and knowing you can go live or record a video." Absolutely, John. Right. That's huge. You can do it at any moment. There we go. I got your whole name in there now. Let's see. Home is where the live stream studio and frankly the home espresso machine are. Okay. True.
(28:53) I can go downstairs even though I don't do coffee after 10 o'clock or I don't sleep. But everything is here. Everything I need is here. LinkedIn is a weird weird place. That's funny. You know, some people love it. It It just hasn't been my happy place yet. Eh, maybe one day, just not now. But I know it does work well for a lot of people, especially coaches, business owners.
(29:22) So, look, if you're doing things that work for you right now, adding live streaming to the mix can definitely be something that just gives you a little additional enhancement and boost because again, think about it. All of the platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Now X, um, all of these spaces have some form of live streaming platforms available to you.
(29:49) So, why not take advantage of it? Here's number three. This is number three. And don't forget, I want if you've got a fire emoji in the chat, I want to see it. If you're feeling like, hey, she's getting me there and I do feel like I want to connect more than I create. Cuz there's a whole thing about let's go create, create, create.
(30:15) But if your creating is doing nothing but simply burning you out, that's not a good thing. The goal, the endgame is connect. The endgame is convert, right? But the create part is simply our means of being able to be visible with this stuff. So if you're ready, ready ready to start connecting, I want you to put a fire emoji into the chat here.
(30:43) I'm I'm going to give you a fire emoji, a fire explosion right here. If that's you, put the fire emoji in the chat. Okay, I'm going to give you number three and then we'll get ready to wrap it up. Number three, here's another reason why live streaming is this is your year, y'all. This when I say 2026, like stop playing. Stop.
(31:08) Buyers are being trained to purchase through video. Have you not realized this? Has anybody been watching Tik Tok in motion with the shop? Have you been watching Amazon Live? Did you know? Remember that old way that people, what was it called? QVC. Has anybody heard about the fact that QVC is making a comeback? I don't know if it's going to be in the same exact form, right? if they're going to call it QVC or what, but yes, shopping online, shopping via video, shopping with people that you trust in digital spaces is a
(31:49) thing. And it's been a thing for a while, but there's a lot of people that have not adopted the thing. So when you think about the opportunities because buyers are being trained to purchase through video, this is bigger than content. It's bigger than you just simply being out there and posting stuff on the wall and hoping somebody ends up possibly liking or commenting maybe.
(32:19) Right? This is about sales. It is bigger than content. It's about sales. And I don't want you to feel guilty. I had to write a post about this the other day because I saw someone write something and I thought that's crazy. You are a business owner. Of course you're selling something. I don't feel guilty when people unsubscribe from my email list because I'm promoting the fact that I have a new course or a program.
(32:44) I don't I'm not guilty. I don't feel guilty. I feel proud that I get to share with you something that I've put my heart and invested my brain into in order to make sure that it's a solid program that's going to help make a difference in people's lives and in their businesses so that they have a ripple effect and they're impacting other people that are in their spaces that they're responsible for and so that they're able to support their families to have a good life.
(33:17) Like I don't feel guilty about that. So if you unsubscribe because I sold something on a live stream or I put something about a sale in an email, that's okay. I'm good with that. You may not be my people and I'm not yours apparently. Right? I want you to stop feeling guilty about that. And I want you to know that live streaming can be an opportunity not only for you to look, let me give y'all I'm going to this is a bonus.
(33:47) Okay, this is a bonus and then I'm I'm going to get get back on track, but it is it's relevant. There are different ease. I want you to write these down if you're using your notepad and your pen like I encourage you to. You can entertain, which a lot of people do. You can educate. You can educate with your words, with your content.
(34:15) You can encourage. Sometimes you're just popping up live because you need to encourage somebody else. You need to share a story, something that you've been through. And you can elevate your brand. You can talk about yourself. you can promote yourself. I know a lot of us, especially as women, we're told, "Oh, no.
(34:36) " You know, that's bragging. Don't do that. We have to learn. Look, I'm a grown woman now. I'm way I'm over 50, almost 55 here. So, let me tell y'all youngsters, especially us women, get over that because a closed mouth does not get fed. So you need to know how to sell and promote what you are offering. The purpose and the gifts that you have, you need to put that out there.
(35:07) People need to know about it. Okay? And however you choose to do that. So, elevating your brand, educating, entertaining, a mix of those things, use all the methods, but your content should be fulfilling one of those purposes or a combination of those. Okay? So, leverage what you have and tell people about it and put a price tag on it, please. This is bigger than content.
(35:41) It's about sales. Live streaming is a conversion tool. It's not just a visibility tool. In fact, viewers who engage with live content are 40% more likely to take action. So, look, I know this even though I have been slack at selling my stuff on Amazon, I know this because every time I do Amazon lives, I used to do these Saturdays, like one Saturday a month, which I think I might get back to, but I used to get on and I would do an Amazon live and I'd talk about specific things that were in my Amazon store and share with people why I
(36:16) love these things. You can go right now to Amazon and see live videos where somebody is selling something that might be useful to you. Again, conversion tool. It's a way for people to engage with live content and to buy and it's a winwinwin for everybody because it's a win for them since they get that awesome thing.
(36:40) It's a win for you because you get a commission, right? And it's of course a win for the manufacturer of the company. So if we're trying to create wins all over the place, don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to sell. Just don't. Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, all of these platforms are now prioritizing live shopping, tipping, and direct links during the live experience.
(37:14) You no longer have to wait for a sales page or email followup to convert. People buy in real time when trust and relevance meet. And that's what you're doing on your live streams. You're making the connection between trust and relevance. If y'all are hearing what I'm saying, if this is making any sense to you, I just want you to put if you've heard a gem at all, if there's a little diamond, find that diamond emoji and pop that into the chat.
(37:49) If one of these things that I've said is triggering for you, I just want you to pop that in there so I know that you're hearing me and that you're really getting this. I want to know that you're getting this. Okay. So, here's what it means for you. You don't need a massive audience to monetize. You don't need it. Yes. Do you want to grow your audience? Sure you do.
(38:16) I do, too. But you can't make the excuse that, hey, I only have this number of people. When you are creating trust and you're building a connection with a tr a trusted relationship even with a smaller group of people who need you and are willing to invest in your services, programs and products that can be sustainable, that can sustain your business.
(38:42) So you need an engaged a qualified audience who shows up live. Now, one of the classes I used to teach, which I'm going to be reviving, is called Discover Your MV3, your most valuable video viewer. So, we'll we're going to be talking about that. I know a lot of people talk about target audience and ICPS and all of that stuff.
(39:04) So, MV3, we need to hone in on that. I'm going to be doing another webinar that not webinar, but um a live stream that talks about that. Who knows, maybe we'll do a webinar, too. We did our first earlier this week and it was so much fun to do. Okay, here's a couple of bonus tips and then I want to pop up a couple more comments that I'm seeing in here that are super smart.
(39:25) Yeah, actually I need to pop this one up now cuz John, you're dropping them. You and Roy, both of you. We're expecting um top temperatures of 42 degrees here today. So, I'm very wary of fire right now. Oh, so as I was putting the fire emoji up, you're like, I don't know. I look, I hope that you're going to be okay and that my fiery emojis do not catch where you are.
(39:54) Hit that like button. Thank you, Roy. I appreciate you. Okay. And I know that we have some folks as well that are over on our space. Fred, see you over there. Thank you for coming and hanging out with us on Substack. I love it. I love it. Okay, bonus insight. Bonus insight. Here's where we go. The live streaming market is projected to grow from, check this out, $113 billion to over 600 billion by 2032.
(40:32) The infrastructure is ready. The audience is ready. The platforms are ready. All we're trying to figure out is where are you? When are you going to be ready? Where are you? What's missing? More coaches, more consultants, more service businesses like you showing up. That's what's missing. 2026 may be the last year that you can position yourself as an early mover before live streaming becomes as crowded as other types of podcast, videos, all the things are right now.
(41:13) So, how do you differentiate differentiate differentiate yourself and your business right now? You use tools like live streams. you use this type of strategy to show up and to be in front of the people that you care about and that care about what you talk about. I care about each and every one of you. If you're here, it is I don't believe in coincidences.
(41:37) There's a reason you needed to hear what I'm sharing. And if you haven't heard the full thing, you can go back and watch the replay because it'll be published, right? But I want you to know that if you have, which I'm sure you do, if you have a message, if there's something that you're meant to share in the world, doing it with a live stream can help you to connect in a way that a lot of this other content type of creation won't.
(42:07) You being in it and putting your investment of yourself into this content is what makes it so powerful. And again, acknowledging and shouting out to those people who are creating all the AI things. I create some AI things, too. I love it. I do. It's fun. But I am never going to forget where I came from. And I'm never going to forget that in the end what matters more and most to me is having the personal connection.
(42:39) Like I'm never going to forget that. You're not ever going to see it. I'm going to promise this right here. There's never going to be a time where you're going to see 100% AI voice or video clones on my stuff. I'm just committed to that because I believe in this type of communication. I believe in conversational content that connects people heart to heart. I do.
(43:04) Do I think some of the automated and produced things and content can can do some of this too? Yeah, I think it could be enhanced. I think it can help. But there's never going to be a time where I'm sitting here with you and interacting with you robotically and it's going to feel the same as it feels right now.
(43:26) It feels great to me to be able to reach out and to connect with you through this camera. It's like I'm looking you in the eye right now and you're looking at me and we're we're getting each other. We're understanding each other. That's the power to me of live streaming. Somebody said the other day, she was like, "My I can tell you're so passionate about it.
(43:52) " And I was like, "Yeah, I'm passionate about it." Because I was a naysayer. I was a skeptic. I was the person that said, "I don't put me on camera." And I realized that the more I showed up, the more I showed up for myself, the more people wanted me to show up so that they could see it was possible for them to do the same. So, let's recap.
(44:24) And and before we recap, let me ask you, I'm going to put this out here as the challenge. I want you to just if there was one takeaway, one takeaway in the time that we've been together, pop that into the comments. Just one lesson learned, one takeaway. I want to know what landed for you the most. Okay? Drop your biggest takeaway in the comments and I'm going to do a recap.
(44:47) Okay? So, three reasons why I believe that live streaming in 2026 is the jam. It is the jam. Number one, live streaming equals low competition plus high connection. That's the main one. It's low competition. People aren't out here doing this. Not like you. And even if they are, it's not a crowded marketplace yet. It's just not.
(45:17) It's it's a place where you get to uniquely stand out and differentiate yourself because you are the only you that exists. So your unique filter and the way that you share information and the way that you put things out into the world that comes through your stream. So that's number one. Number two, it's never been easier than now to go live because all of the things are in place.
(45:41) You just need to know how. And that's why I'm creating that live stream authority system because I was like, "Hey, I need to go all in on this and to help people really have a leg up to be able to do it in a way that they feel confident and comfortable and they feel like, hey, I'm make I'm reaching I'm reaching other people." So, more to come on that.
(46:03) It's not ready yet, but we're working on it. Um, never been easier than now to go live. And number three is buyers are being trained to purchase through video. So if you are in business, if you are an entrepreneur and one of your things is selling, which one of your things should be selling or else you're not a business, you're a hobby, live streaming is an awesome and excellent way for you to be able to do that.
(46:29) Live streaming also gives you a platform to be able to share the causes that you care the most about. And right now, even if you're not selling anything, if you're an entrepreneur, let's say you're on Substack, because I see a few of you that I don't think have businesses, and some of you are simply using live streaming to remember I talked about educate, elevate, all of those things.
(46:52) Some of you are using it for different reasons. It is an excellent way for you to be able to reach other people with the message that you feel you need to share, that you are destined in this moment to share. There are a lot of people who are becoming ministers of whatever the information is that you are learning and studying. You are needed right now.
(47:14) You are needed right now. People need to hear from people they trust. So become the trusted advisor. Become the thought leader. Become the voice that they can't hear anywhere else. And use live video to do this. I hope you're hearing me on this. So, if there's one thing you took away from today, I want you to pop that in the chat.
(47:40) Let me address a couple of really quick questions and say hello to some folks. Suanne, happy new year. Back at you. I love it. Let me see. It's okay to do my show most every Wednesday. Yes. Yes. Okay. We talked about this. Suanne knows my philosophy on not committing to being a daily or weekly or monthly martyr.
(48:03) If there are times that you need to give yourself grace, this is the reason why I say most Thursdays. I did not go live last night because I had a commitment, but I'm here today. Um, happy new year to you as well. Bible my life coaching. It's good to see you. Um, Radiance by Retellia said, "My takeaway is that this is the year of no more excuses.
(48:26) It's time for Raitellia to go live. Point blank period." Hello. Yes. Yes, it is. Wait, I got to find you an emoji. Let me pop this up. I'm going to put it back up here. Radiance by Retellia. Cuz you need the gold. You're my golden nugget for today. I love it. D Bowen in the house. Live streaming is needed. Okay, that was the that's the known.
(48:54) Yes, that's the takeaway. Thank you. 2026 is my exit out of analysis paralysis. Yes. Look y'all, we are winning over here in this stream. We are winning. Okay, each and every one of us, we are winners. Let me take a look over here on Substack 2 and make sure I acknowledge. Yes, the four E. Okay, thank you.
(49:21) So D took away the four E that I talked about and the live streaming stats which were really Yeah. Yes. I you use it D to increase civic engagement and you do have some merch. Great. You have a bi-weekly live on Substack fired up Friday. I love love love it. Okay. I gotta come check it out, D.
(49:43) So I'll be heading over there so I can go and connect. Okay. Yes. And D, I totally agree. Let me pop this up here because D, I'm holding you accountable. It is time for you to go live with Collect the Cash. D is an author of the book called Collect the Cash. She does speaking gigs. You're everywhere, D. So, yes, it's time for you to get your message out into the world.
(50:07) Now, one of the things that I know a lot of people tend to struggle with, and this is why I decided I wanted to build out the course on live stream authority system. One of the things that people struggle with is, "Okay, so I decided I'm going to go live, Tanya, but now what am I saying? How do I say it? And then how am I going to repurpose this thing so I can show up like Tanya is everywhere? because I am literally not everywhere 24/7, but you might think I am because my content is because I'm leveraging that live stream in a very smart and
(50:45) intelligent way. So, more to come. This is the year of live streaming authority. This is our year. This is it. So, if you're ready to take that next step, remember I asked you earlier for a fire emoji. Except for those who are worried about fires, John, but drop that emoji in the chat. And if you want to be on the wait list for live stream authority system, which should be out by the end of February, just put the word authority in the chat and I'll make sure I come and collect.
(51:24) And if you're not already on our email list, you definitely will want to subscribe. Let me pop that up too so that you have it. streamlike boss.tvsubscribe. This is how we do. Come on over and hang out with us. I am going to be doing a Saturday stream newsletter. I'm still figuring out how I want to do this, but we're definitely going to be focusing on techniques and tactics and also some of the things that are really important for you to know as it relates to video.
(52:00) Um, this is a year where there's a lot that's going to be happening. The pace and the speed of technology is crazy. And so, we want to be able to ride that wave, but not not get drowned in the wave, right? So, we need to talk about that. And I have some special guests that are going to be coming on the show as well in the next few months.
(52:26) Um, so be watching for all of that, y'all. I'm excited. If anybody was like curious about how is she doing all these different scene changes, you know, I've got different cameras. So, this is a camera over here. There's another one that's behind me up here. We'll talk about that, too. If you've got questions about it, that will be part of what we're teaching in the course because I know some of you are curious.
(52:50) But what I want you to know is that we're not going into paralysis mode because we're like, "Oh my god, I can't do those things. You don't have to do all those things. You can start with where you are. That's exactly how I started. I was in a walk-in closet with a PC computer that had an angle that went up my nose. It was the worst.
(53:14) It did not make any sense, but that's what I had. So, that's what I used. So, use what you have and then we'll just build our acuity. All righty, folks. Thank you so much. I want you to remember this. This is my takeaway. My takeaway for you. Your voice is your superpower. Your story matters and someone is out there waiting to hear it from you.
(53:43) So, we just happen to use live streaming to do it. Whatever way you need to get your voice out there, I want to encourage you in 2026 that it's time. No more excuses. Alrighty, folks. We will see you next time in the stream. Thank you so much for coming and have a blessed and abundantly blessed weekend.
