Tanya Smith [00:07:21]:
Go get your notepad and your pen because tonight is a teaching night, so I don't have a guest with me tonight. I will next week. The amazing and lovely Katie Fox from ECAMM Live is gonna be my guest next week, so I'm super excited about that. But tonight, it's just me and you, And I'm gonna be teaching. I'm talking about 10 content ideas livestream content ideas for you as a service business. So I am gonna pull up the slides, you know, and do all of that kind of stuff, but we're also just gonna relax. This is an informal conversation. So if you do have questions, If you have commentary, I'm gonna be asking for that.

Tanya Smith [00:07:59]:
I wanna see you in the chat. Okay? I am paying attention, and I am literally I'm, like, right here with you live right now in this moment. Like, this is not fake. I'm really here. It's not prerecorded. So I do wanna hear from you and wanna connect, okay, on a personal level, because this is about your business. So if you have questions as you're thinking through And listening in about these 10 content ideas, if there's a light bulb moment that goes off for you, I wanna hear about it. Okay? And I wanna also hear from you after the show if you've implemented and taken action on anything we talk about.

Tanya Smith [00:08:35]:
Now before I go to my little promo clip, and while I'm asking you to go ahead and get your notepad and your pen and your favorite cup of hydration, whatever that may be, I'm also going to say this. I will give you this warning and disclaimer. I'm a geek. So when it comes to apps In tools, if there's something as we're talking, if there's something that I end up thinking about, like, oh, this could be a good tool for them, I'm probably gonna show it up on screen, and we'll do a quick demo. So if you got questions, again, ask because it may, you never know, trigger an idea something that I've seen that I can share with you. Alrighty, folks. I see a few more people coming in, so I'm gonna say welcome on the other side of this video. I will be right back, and we're gonna talk about our 10 livestream content ideas for you as a service business.

Tanya Smith [00:09:26]:
Alright. See you in a second. Alrighty, folks. The topic. The topic is 10 livestream content ideas and specifically for you as a service business, so I want you to really be thinking about this. As a service business owner, what is one of the biggest challenges that you have when it comes to actually creating your video content? Now I do specifically focus on live streaming, of course, because, hey, stream like a boss TV. But if there's Other questions. If you have questions about reels, shorts, prerecorded videos, videos on demand, you name it, is there a challenge, And what is it that's holding you back from actually creating more content? Because for me, I can tell you, one of the top reasons Has always been, what should I say? Am I going to share something of value? Am I gonna share something that will be of help to the people that I'm actually talking to.

Tanya Smith [00:10:53]:
Now I will say this. Early on in my live streaming career, Which, by the way, I dug up a video from 2017, y'all, when I was going live, and it looked crazy. I'll have to put that in my throwback Thursday for next week. I will do that. But one of the things that we often struggle with is this idea thing. Like, What will make the connection with my audience? So I wanna give you a couple of different ideas for you to think about and to ponder, and My hope is that by the end of us talking tonight, that you will at least be able to choose 1. That's my hope. My hope and my dream for tonight's show, pick 1 thing, one thing that you can walk away with and actually use in your business.

Tanya Smith [00:11:43]:
I wanna say hello to a couple of other people. Mommy La la in the house. Always love Love to see her here. Love it. Love it. And I also love this topic too, JP. I do. It's one of my favorite things to talk about.

Tanya Smith [00:11:59]:
So in just a second, I'm gonna pull up some slides, and we're gonna do some diving into these different topics. And the reason why I didn't pull this up on screen this time. It's because I want you to be able to really kinda ponder each of the ideas that we're gonna pull up. Okay? How about we get started? Are you ready? Alright. I think I'm ready. Stream like a boss. It's Time to stream like a boss, but we gotta do first, put together a strategy. So here's the thing.

Tanya Smith [00:12:28]:
This is something before I switch over to that slide, Something that came up in the conversation with Mari Smith. She's doing her f bomb, which is basically her Facebook marketing program that I love to attend every year. And one of the things that is was interesting that she talked about is that we are also stressed and overloaded with all the things we have to do. So that's one of the reasons why I asked about what your biggest challenge is, and I see a couple of you putting challenges in here, so I do need to acknowledge these. Yeah. So mommy la la for me too. Editing is has been an Achilles' heel, which is one of the reasons why I absolutely love live Streaming so much because, honestly, I kinda just don't edit unless I have to. Right? But Editing on the back end of the livestream to create and repurpose your longer videos into shorter video clips, that is Still, that is definitely part of a strategy that I think we need to consider, and we just need to get better About doing that editing.

Tanya Smith [00:13:40]:
I know I should be putting up more edited vid I know always procrastinate. And I don't even think you're procrastinating, mommy. I think that it is honestly, in most cases, it's not about even the procrastination because we know what we need to do, But it is about making that time and finding that time in our calendars. Right? So the struggle is real. I totally acknowledge and relate to what you just said. I do. Yeah. And sometimes less is more just like John Lacey said it.

Tanya Smith [00:14:12]:
I can't get this comment thing to work right. This is why I'm gonna have to I'll fix that later. But let me pop this up because I want people to see that sometimes less is more. I agree. I agree wholeheartedly. Yeah. Finally creating an intro video for my channel after 2 years, dude. I am with you.

Tanya Smith [00:14:32]:
Look. JP helped me to create mine. And then I was like, I need a new one. I need a new one. Let's get these the slide up here. We're gonna talk about these live content ideas because I can get off track easily. But, really, it's still on track because we're talking. Right? We're having conversation, and this is fun.

Tanya Smith [00:14:53]:
I am I'm excited for him too. So, Roy, I need to go and see in the channel when it's up. Let me know. Let us know if the intro video is up so we can go watch. Yay. Okay. Number 1. Let's talk about number 1.

Tanya Smith [00:15:08]:
This is live content ideas for service businesses. And so number 1 is behind the scene Tours. So one of the ideas that I'm sharing with you here is that if you're doing a live stream, And this is something, literally, I just probably within the past year really understood because I didn't under I didn't get it before. I didn't make the connection. Here's why. I you probably think the same thing that I do, that Your life is boring. Why on earth would anybody care about what you're doing when you're not on screen? Right? Okay. That's what I thought.

Tanya Smith [00:15:51]:
I was like, hey. I'm just momming over here. I'm doing the corporate thing. I cook and I clean. You know, I take the trash out. Like, what am I doing that's so super exciting that people will care about? But there is benefit and value to people seeing how you make the sauce. Okay? So if you think about it, some of the things that you watch When you're watching different content creators and you're watching other videos, one of the things that probably connects you, and I had to really kind of think about ideas by watching other people's videos and thinking, you know what? That really did keep my attention, the fact that I could see the behind the scenes of this person and how they go about organizing their day Or how they go about creating their studio setup because it can give me and trigger for me ideas that I might wanna use for my own studio redesign. So think about if you're following people that do that, Why not share your own behind the scenes? And I don't necessarily mean that it has to be related to your videos, But it could be related to whatever it is you do.

Tanya Smith [00:17:10]:
So the content that you deliver, the services that you deliver, Why not think about how you can actually show people rather than tell them how what your thought process is? Right? One of the things that I love about a gentleman that reached out to me a couple weeks ago about live streaming, he said, you know, what we're doing with our business is we're Starting to record ourselves actually creating the different products and record ourselves Showing how we're thinking through as a team what the process, you know, what the service is going to be and how we're gonna launch it. We're showcasing for people The thinking behind what they're gonna see as the final product. So think about in your own business, how can you go about doing that in a really smart way? In a way that doesn't necessarily mean that you have to take a lot of time to do it, but maybe you just set up a camera next to you while you're doing your everyday thing, right, and create some b roll Or just create some little miniature clips that you you can then use. You can do a voice over and share. Well, here's what I'm doing at this point. So I've started really thinking about that. Yes. I I love it.

Tanya Smith [00:18:28]:
I love it. I see that. Wow. I'm recording myself creating more music. Yes, Yvette Yvette Seeley music. She creates music, y'all, and she comes up with some amazing tunes. So Showing people the thought process of how you're going about doing that really intrigues them and interests them even more in seeing the end result. Yeah.

Tanya Smith [00:18:50]:
And people worry about others stealing your process, but once they know how much work is involved that that's true too, John. There are a lot of people out there looking for Don Mariah Christmas music. I love it. What's up, Nicolette in the house? I hope you're doing well. Yes. Yes. Yes. So that's one of the things that I want you to think about is What could I share that would showcase for people how I go about getting my work done, my day to day, My life even, behind the scenes tours.

Tanya Smith [00:19:29]:
One of my most famous I won't even say famous. It didn't go viral or anything, but it was fun to do. And I had a lot of engagement and interaction and questions, and I was able to sell Some of the things that I was showcasing, but one of my favorite videos that I've done is my studio tour, Which, by the way, jprk3, several people were telling me, look, girl, you need to show how you set this thing up. And I kept saying, yeah. I'll get to that. But I really was thinking, people will be bored. They won't care. And you cared, And it was fun to make too.

Tanya Smith [00:20:09]:
Yes. I love this comment too. It isn't the process. It's the implementation and the voice sharing. Voice sharing the process. Yes. Yeah. People getting to know you and the behind the scenes is really cool.

Tanya Smith [00:20:25]:
I'm glad you're doing good, Nicolette, and hopefully healing up some. Now I'm gonna warn y'all. I have a little bit of a cough that Still, it just will not go away. So I might have to take a little sip of water in just a minute, but I'm trying to hang in there. I'm trying to hang in there. Let me get this 1 more comment, and then we're gonna go on to number 2. Behind the scenes can be magical for outsiders. It's true.

Tanya Smith [00:20:51]:
It's true. Look. Why do you think people love these reality shows so much? Because they're showing behind the scenes. Instead Instead of just the romance at the end, they're showing here's how we got to this place or the the disaster at the end In some cases. Okay. Let's go to number 2. Alright. Another idea for you Is interviews with experts, what you've seen me do.

Tanya Smith [00:21:18]:
Right? So are there industry professionals or experts that are related to your service that could add value for the viewers. Now I will give you a couple of really quick tips and tell you this, That sometimes it can be it can be difficult and let me say this. I don't wanna say difficult. I am not naturally gifted. At least, I didn't think I was naturally gifted at interviewing. Being the introvert that I am, I didn't think that. I love to do interviews, But it does take some extra work, and you do need to have a certain level of energy because what you're putting out on camera And what you're sharing and giving to your guest, they give back. So if you feel you sound like you're bored and you come off like, Yeah.

Tanya Smith [00:22:11]:
I'm just here, and I'm you know? Thanks for coming. You're gonna get that back. Just know that. You also need to do a really good job of vetting the experts that you're going to bring onto your stage. This is something I didn't know early on, so Anybody that would raise their hand and say, hey. Can I be on your show? I'd be like, yeah. Because I need bodies. I'm trying to do an interview show.

Tanya Smith [00:22:37]:
Right? And then I discovered, wait a minute. That can really take away that can chip away at the credibility of your show and your brand if you haven't really fully vetted the people that you're bringing on to your stage. So you need to get to know them. And one of the things I require now is to have a connection call. Like, I wanna talk to the person and kind of get a feel for how What their vibe is on camera, and I want them to also feel comfortable that we've gotten to know each other some. So that way when they do come on my virtual stage, right, there is more of a synergy, And that shows up in the video. So there's a lot to think about, and we can do a whole show. In fact, I'll do a show.

Tanya Smith [00:23:25]:
I'll outline a show for you About things to think about when it comes to guest interviews. We've done a show previously, but I've definitely learned some things even since then about putting process together for that. But that is absolutely another way that you can live stream, provide content for your audience as a service business. So you wanna think about people that don't necessarily compete with you, But people who can complement what you do and add another perspective and offer something to your clients and to your audience that will be of help, and is it still somehow related to what it is you talk about as well? So let me get a few comments in here. Awesome. Look at this. Oh, I love that. Okay.

Tanya Smith [00:24:15]:
Well, we gotta see what you wanna talk about, OES Club. I have a very jealous marine veteran husband. So if we're talking privately about video, then that would be a thing. And if there's something I can help you with from a coaching standpoint too. Alright. Mommy La La, I agree with that first point I've done behind the scenes of my craft room and my craft hub, people did like them. That's right. They get excited because they get to see what you provide in your membership and how you think And whether they they wanna see themselves working with you.

Tanya Smith [00:24:50]:
Yeah. JP, you know you helped me to be encouraged to actually put that thing on. So I wanna give you the kudos for that. And this is absolutely I agree with this. Your energy dictates the mood of your production. So, look, even though I was really feeling a little bit down, I'm not gonna lie, because that's Well, I asked you at the beginning. Hey. Have you had kind of a tough week? I've had a tough week, so I'm in the 2 category along with those of you who are number 2.

Tanya Smith [00:25:19]:
And for those of you who are number 1, still excited that you're here, and I don't want you to feel down at all. But here's what I have to do before I go live. I have to make Sure that I put myself in the right mindset and that you remember you need to remember why you're doing this thing. Right? Because you're doing this to make an impact, a positive impact on the people. This is me guessing, but I think that you're probably doing. You're live streaming and sharing whatever it is you share because you want to make a positive difference in the lives of the people that are showing up. So sometimes we have to put our game face on and and not only the face itself, but really get Physically into the mood, we have to smile. This is why I love my countdown at the beginning because I love the music.

Tanya Smith [00:26:13]:
I can jam to that for a few seconds before I actually go live, so be thinking about that. When you're doing interviews with experts, How can you put your best self forward so that they'll do the same? And there's a lot more expectation setting that comes even before you ever get to the stage, But like I said, we'll have to reserve that for another show. Okay. Let's go to number 3. And remember, I want you to be taking notes in case there's one that Stands out, because I'm gonna find out from you that one thing, that one idea that you want to implement. So number 3, How about doing live q and a sessions? You can address frequently asked questions or concerns about your service industry. This not only educates the audience, but also helps in real time problem solving. Look.

Tanya Smith [00:27:05]:
This is a big deal. When you can show that you're answering questions that people really, really have about your industry, that can be amazing because it's building up Your credibility as the expert you truly are is showcasing for people what you're capable of and how you can help them by providing solutions that have been well thought out. Right? So q and a's, there's a couple of different ways you can do q and a's with a live session. Right? So one way Is that you can actually let's say, for instance, you have a Facebook group or a community that you built. If you've got an ask me anything post that you put up every week, you can see, you can scan through, and this is something that I do. Some of you know this. Scan through and see what questions are popping up. Is there a common theme? Is there something that you feel like, you know what? This person's asking this question, but this also So could help other people, then you can literally get on your video camera, do a live, and only focus on that 1 question.

Tanya Smith [00:28:09]:
Just say, hey. I wanna acknowledge this person asked this question, and I want to thank them for, you know, sharing it because I think that other people Might be interested in the answer, and then you go into the answer and you provide solutions and resources. Right? Now another way that you can actually do this too is by bringing the person on camera. Now, again, remember vetting people so that they're a match for your brand? You still need to do that. Be careful about that. Vetting people and making sure that, hey. This person's gonna show up With excitement, they're gonna show up with enthusiasm. They're gonna ask the question.

Tanya Smith [00:28:50]:
And maybe they're not, like, over the top excited because that's not me. I'm kinda chill. Again, introvert here. But how are they gonna show up? Are they going to prepare themselves to look their best? And to like, How can you prep them to do these things? You might wanna do that, but then get them on camera. Have them ask their Question live. Now some people even do a live, like, a truly live q and a show, which I used to do when I had my podcast, Snack Size Marketing. So what you could do in that case is give people if you're doing this in a group, and a a closed group is probably the best idea, By the way, because you never know who's just coming out of the woodworks, especially on YouTube. Right? But If you're doing this inside of a closed group and you're doing your live, you could say, hey, community members.

Tanya Smith [00:29:40]:
I'm gonna provide the link below for you to click on, And you can come knock on the door. I've done that. Knock on the door, and I'll let you in to ask your question live. And so then you pull them up on camera, Which helps them to feel validated, of of course, and acknowledged, and let them ask their question, and then you share the answer with them as best you can. Let's see some of these pro tips that are here in the comments about this one. And, yeah, so JP agree, your guests can hurt your brand, so just be careful And at least do due diligence to prep them. Like, help people get ready to be at their best. Right? You're modeling the excellence you want to see on your video.

Tanya Smith [00:30:28]:
The more you can do that and the more you can give them tips, the better. Get your mind and your mood right about 2 hours before you live. Be excited for showing up regardless of the outcome. One of the things that I've shared with some of you who have been here. If you're an OG, you've heard me say this, is my mantra has always been right person, right message, right time. So I repeatedly told myself, I didn't have a full 2 hours to get ready, sorry, tonight. But in the 15 minutes that I did have, I sat and I thought about it. I turned on my candle.

Tanya Smith [00:31:04]:
I got my head right. I got focused, turned off the TV, turned off all the extra noise, made sure that I looked around me. I have a picture of my grandmother right there who is my inspiration, who is my been my role model even though she passed years ago. So I keep a picture of her right there, and I think about how she was always so graceful And so kind and so full of compassion for people. And the big smile that I'm looking at her give while we're standing next to each other Reminds me that everything's not that bad. Right? So whatever you need to do to get yourself Ready and right. For me, it is repeating that mantra. Right message, right person, right time.

Tanya Smith [00:31:47]:
It doesn't matter if it's 1 person that shows up or nobody shows up. I'm getting on here because I know that whatever the message is that I have to share will impact someone. And for me, I actually do say a prayer around that as well And ask for guidance and ask to be able to share something that will make a connection with the person who needs it. So whatever you need to do, that's what I want you to work on doing in preparation for your videos. Yes. And Yvette Sealy Music agreed. And there's talk virtual, Erica Bates, The virtual summit queen. Love it.

Tanya Smith [00:32:26]:
Love it. Love it. Thank you for having, or for being here on my show in the chat. Yeah. I know, Roy. When I'm a guest, I try to leave it better than I found it. I love that. That is beautiful, and that's what we want.

Tanya Smith [00:32:42]:
So we wanna be able to associate with people who are going to, you know, do better, feel better, and help others to feel the same and do the same. Okay. Live q and a session, so I think I've talked about that enough. Let's go to number 4, demonstrations or tutorials. So It's a good idea. Look. Actually, early on when I first started doing live streams, I would have a little whiteboard next To me, like a real whiteboard, not the electronic one, but a real whiteboard. I probably should pull that out now and then.

Tanya Smith [00:33:19]:
I gotta think about that. Okay. And I love okay. Here's a a note about this. Doing demos and tutorials can help reduce the fear and uncertainty that some people may have about trying something new. So think about that with your own service, Whatever the industry is that you're in, how could you do a demonstration of something that people may feel, Hey. I can't do that. So Mami La La talks about crafting.

Tanya Smith [00:33:48]:
Right? My initial thought is I can't craft to save my life, But watching her do a demonstration of how she's doing something makes me feel a little bit more confident. Like, now I know the Steps is 1, 2, and 3. And so what I used to do, especially when I used to focus on systems and process and workflows, I did all the I'm gonna say boring stuff, but, really, it's useful and necessary. But when I used to talk about systems liberation, as I called it, I had a whiteboard, and I would use that whiteboard to draw out workflows and diagrams. And some of my more popular videos back then, Even though the quality wasn't great, but some of my most popular videos back then had to do with me showing People versus telling them again. Right? Showing them the how to. So in sequential order, here's what you do next. Some of the favorite videos that I watch happen to be, like, handyman type videos.

Tanya Smith [00:34:53]:
I needed to fix my, What did I have to fix? I had to fix a shower faucet. And so what did I do? I went and I found my friend, Roger Wakefield, The plumber, who has an amazing YouTube channel, by the way, and I was like, oh, he's got exactly the type of cartridge that I need, so I knew exactly what to order. He demonstrated exactly what step by step needed to be done. So imagine if you're doing this with a live stream, And you're answering questions as you go and clarifying points and showing people, right, all the things that they need to know, Showing them, oh, by the way, here's a link to where you can go to get this particular part in order to finish your thing. So service Businesses, you absolutely have an opportunity to do that. You're not limited to just services. Yes. I love what John said, I'm a practical guy.

Tanya Smith [00:35:49]:
Tell me about things. Sure. But show me how. I know. And talk virtual. So Erica loves systems as well. Of course, you do. You know, we're we're look.

Tanya Smith [00:36:03]:
We're like this, Erica, on that, for sure. And then John also said, I have a terrible Habit of buying whiteboards and never using them. Stop making me laugh because my cough is coming out. I love it. Yeah. I I have whiteboards. A couple of them are sitting in the closet. I don't use them now, but mostly, it's because I'm doing more electronic stuff.

Tanya Smith [00:36:29]:
Okay. Let's go on to the next one. How about that? We can do that. Number 5. We're gonna get through all 10. I promise you. Here's number 5. And I think I'm cutting it off a little bit with my face, but that's okay.

Tanya Smith [00:36:43]:
Customer testimonials and stories. Here's the thing, and this is really critical for those of you who have not been thinking about it. I was talking with one of my clients the other day in our coaching call, and she was asking me about how to differentiate herself and to stand out. And one of the things I reminded her about is that she has an abundant, number of years In the role that she's in, she has so many opportunities to touch base with former clients that she's been working with So that people can hear their stories and how they started and where she was able to help them to get to. And when people can actually hear and experience real live testimonials and stories, it makes such a difference because that social proof is far better than just a written text testimonial, which someone can just suggest that you actually made up or you pulled from chat GPT. Right? So when you're doing a live, you could literally have a livestream testimonial show or Somewhere within the show that you've created or the episode that you're recording, you could introduce, hey. I've got, You know, one of my customers is here now to talk a little bit about how we worked on this exact thing that I'm telling you about. And then you pull your customer up, And then you ask them some key questions to help them to be able to respond in such a way that it really shares with people What the value is of the work that you did with them.

Tanya Smith [00:38:25]:
Right? And, again, same thing as what I talked to you about before. If you're bringing people on your live, What did I say you need to do? Type it in the comments. There's 1 word. Okay. I'm gonna tell you. Vet your guest, v e t. Vet your guests. Yes.

Tanya Smith [00:38:49]:
Absolutely. I love it. I love it. Vet them. So look what John is doing, and I do the same. Set up a Google form to accept promotional message videos for my show. Oh, I love that. Okay.

Tanya Smith [00:39:03]:
I haven't done that yet, but I do love that. Now remember I told you I'm kind of a geek. Right? So there is something I wanna show you. There is a testimonial. There are a couple of different Testimonial apps that are out there that I really like. 1 in particular is in Dorsal. So I won't go too far off into the deep end about it. Let me do something real fast here.

Tanya Smith [00:39:28]:
Let's do that. Okay. One of the things that I like about in is that it allows you to collect both video and text based testimonials. So I've created links for every type of service that I offer. I've created a link and a widget Did they call it okay. That you can embed on your own site or in a page. If you're using, like, a Linktree or something, you can even add the link there. But what I've done is created 1 for webinars, 1 for courses, one that's just general feedback.

Tanya Smith [00:40:05]:
Right? So think about that. How can you create a space for people to easily leave you a testimonial even if you're not doing the livestream? So I love especially collecting video testimonials since video is my thing. But in dorsal is 1. There's VideoPeel. I was gonna pop them up, but I won't for sake of time. I'll do another show because we've done 1 before, but I'll do one where we can talk about this. Gosh. There's several.

Tanya Smith [00:40:36]:
You can even use if you're using something like Quickpage, which is one of my staples that I use, Or you're using Dubb Video, d u b b, or you're using, gosh. There's a ton of them. Right? If you're using any of these type of sites that actually allow people to reply, they can reply with a video or reply with a text message, Ask them to leave a testimonial about the experience with you. But specific to the topic that we're talking about tonight, The focus is on if you're doing a live stream and you're inviting real clients to tell their story, Are you doing a case study review? And the difference between a case study and just a plain old testimonial is your case study is gonna be a bit more in-depth, Were you really gonna share, here's where the person started and give some details about what that meant For them, like, how was it making a negative and adverse impact on their business or even their personal life? What were the steps that they took to get to you? What did you do when you connected with them? How did you work together to bring about the solution? And then what happens at the end? What was the result and the outcome? So case studies are a bit more, involved, But they're absolutely worth it. And if you can talk someone through a case study, that's an excellent piece of livestream content. So that's idea number 5. Alright. If you have already identified 1 of the 5 that you feel like you could as you could adopt and you can go with this, I want you to go ahead and pop in the number of the content idea that you think, you will try.

Tanya Smith [00:42:28]:
And you're gonna try this within, let's say, the next 24 hours. I'm gonna start mapping out how I'm gonna do this. That's what I want you to challenge yourself to do. I'm challenging you to do that too. Okay. Are we ready to go to number 6? I am. Let me pop up John's comment. Hi.

Tanya Smith [00:42:48]:
I'm, That's right. So give them a template for your testimonials. Hi. I'm John from lie learn live streaming with John Lacey, and here's what's happened in my business, and the fact that I'm, you know, hanging out with Tanya. This was the impact Or whatever that comment might be. Number 5, I haven't done that yet. Awesome. Awesome.

Tanya Smith [00:43:14]:
So let me remind everybody of what number 5 was. Number 5 is customer testimonials and stories. Absolutely. Yes. You need to be doing this, mommy la la, because I bet you got a ton of people who would be more than happy To do a testimony for you. I know you do. Yes. John says he would like to do more q and a, But his audience can be a little bit shy.

Tanya Smith [00:43:42]:
I get it. I get it. And, you know, sometimes I have that too, John, so one of the things here's a tip for the q and a stuff. I would say one way you can do q and a, I've talked to you all about this before too. If you don't yet have an audience or if you have an audience that is not as engaging yet, One thing you can do is go and look up Quora, quora.com, or you can look up answer the public.com, or there's several resources that we've talked about in previous videos as it relates to content strategy. But you can go to these places and find out what are questions that are common around my industry or service. And then in your q and a, even if you don't have someone else there with you, you can address the question. Here's the common question.

Tanya Smith [00:44:35]:
This is a frequently asked question In my industry, and I wanna answer it and share my perspective on how to make this work. Right? So you still you don't get out of doing your q and a. John, you can do more. Let me see. I see a note from, Yep. Erica says she could could have done more of number 5. You can still do more of number 5. You are welcome.

Tanya Smith [00:45:01]:
You are so welcome. Okay. I just saw my light pop off, so I will fix that in a second, We're gonna keep it moving. Go to number 6. Are y'all ready? Let's do another I got a backup light because this is what we do When we go live. Right? Back up light in the house. It's gonna come on. Okay.

Tanya Smith [00:45:21]:
Here we go. Number 6. Number 6 is a weekly or monthly news roundup. Hey. How about that? So discuss the latest trends, news, or updates in your industry. So if you're looking for a livestream content idea, this is excellent as a service business because you can be positioning yourself you always are positioning yourself as a thought leader. Right? So the more you can actually be on top of trends and go forth and share with people, hey. This is what's happening right now.

Tanya Smith [00:46:00]:
These are things you need to know. Look. You've seen this in action. You've seen this in action. Because How many times have you seen people popping up saying, hey. Did you know about the latest AI? Right? I swear, if I if 1 more doggone person becomes an AI expert okay. Just kidding. But I'm not kidding.

Tanya Smith [00:46:24]:
Think about in your industry, and maybe it is artificial intelligence that's somehow making a dramatic Splash in your industry in in the field of what you do. Right? Why not be the one that comes on this week and says, hey. This week, I wanna talk to you about some of the trends that I'm seeing in my field, in our field. Right? If you're talking to audience members that are in the same field and that are learning from you or if you're talking to audience members that could be impacted by this thing, right, that you do, this service that you're in. You can share with them the latest and greatest trends and news. Of course, there's lots of people doing newsletters, right, the text based newsletters. Why not do a livestream version of the newsletter? I honestly have been thinking a lot about this. I'm thinking about making that my IG live, my Instagram live, Being kind of a weekly trends, call that's only maybe 10 minutes or less.

Tanya Smith [00:47:26]:
So what could you do? What could you do? You're very welcome. I see somebody else has an idea. So tutorials and demonstrations, I love it, Yvette. Yes. Yes. Yes. I do try to focus more on on more perennial stuff than just news, but it can be a starting point. I do love You can absolutely talk about evergreen content that never is going to go away because that is great for YouTube.

Tanya Smith [00:47:54]:
But I think it's also when you're live, there is some value in you being able to talk about what's happening right now in this moment. Like, what is What is happening that could affect, you know, the solutions that you're looking for or that could affect and create more opportunities for you? I think that's an excellent way to consider content that is fresh and stays on top of your industry. Okay. Number 7, challenges and solutions. So you could address a common challenge that's faced in your industry And then walk viewers through the solution. Now this to me is kinda similar to if you're gonna do demos and tutorials and whiteboards and all of that So but it doesn't necessarily have to be those things. You literally could talk through that challenge, like overcoming the fear of being on camera or technical difficulties. Let me back that up because I'm not ready for that yet.

Tanya Smith [00:48:54]:
But you can talk to people about the fear of being on camera. I have definitely done some calls and some live streams where I've talked about On camera confidence. I've even created a whole workshop and a webinar on that, which we're about to redeliver for current times because I did this, The last 1 a couple years ago, but think about a challenge that people face often in your industry, your service based business. And what exactly could you do that would help people to find their way through that challenge? So for me, for instance, if I were doing the on camera confidence thing, what I might do on a live stream is talk about 10 different affirmations that will help you to overcome your fear of being on camera. And then I share those 10, right, and talk about, you know, personal stories or stories of my different Clients that were able to use affirmations to help them get over the hump of just turning the camera on and going live. What could that look like for you? Alright. Let's go to number 8. Number 8 Is interactive workshops.

Tanya Smith [00:50:09]:
So host a workshop where you teach a skill or a strategy that is relevant to your industry. Encouraging participation can lead to better engagement. Now when we talk about workshops, here's the thing. A lot of times, people do closed workshops, meaning that you're doing them after you've collected an email. K? And I do think that is smart in most cases because one of the things we have to be very conscientious about, Especially in these times is that we're not building on rented land, meaning that we have to recognize that YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, anybody can take our post down and take our presence down if they just feel like it. They feel like something was against their standards or their policies, or they just don't like you. It's not your land. You're renting it.

Tanya Smith [00:51:05]:
So you do want to be building your email list. You absolutely want to be building your own space And making sure that you have access to connect with the people who have decided to connect with you. So one of the reasons why we do the closed workshops and do closed groups is because We wanna exchange that email currency for access. But when I share that live Streaming content idea number 8 could be interactive workshops. Maybe you do have a registration process that's in place, right, And it's still live streaming. You could be using StreamYard, or you could be using Ecamm like I'm using today. You can be using any type of streaming platform or tool Or just going live on your native Facebook app, which somebody reminded me the other day. They were like, hey.

Tanya Smith [00:51:58]:
Can I just do this live On my native Facebook, I said, yeah? I always forget to tell people. You could just do that. You don't have to go and get another streaming platform. Now you're gonna miss out on some of the bells and whistles, but that's okay. But, I do want you to think about the potential for using A live streaming workshop where you do have a gateway that people can sign up for so that they're giving you access to continue to nurture that relationship through email. And there are times also where I've just decided, hey. I'm gonna do a YouTube live workshop. I'm just gonna get on here.

Tanya Smith [00:52:42]:
I'm not letting people register or anything to that effect. I just my goal in this instance is just to rate visibility and also to get some ideas as to whether or not this is something I do want to package up for later and turn into a paid program or a closed group event. So there's options. And just know we always have options. K? You don't have to do anything exactly the way you're hearing it. You literally can make decisions for yourself about how you wanna do it. Okay. Number 9, Product or service launches can be done live.

Tanya Smith [00:53:20]:
Yes. Yes. Yes. So introduce new services or updates to your audience in real time. It can create anticipation and excitement. So one of the things I'm planning to do, I'm kind of excited about I've been working on this, find your video archetype, quiz. And my dear friend, Ty Goodwin, bless her heart, she's always offering to help. Can I help you? Because she's the quiz queen.

Tanya Smith [00:53:45]:
Right? She has a whole chat g p t prompt based quiz builder, and her team is amazing at creating quizzes. So if you're looking for somebody to help you with that, she loves to build quiz funnels. But when I brought this up, Excuse me. That I was gonna be doing it. She reached out immediately. It was like, hey. Can I help? Like, no. I'm good.

Tanya Smith [00:54:08]:
You already helped me. But one of the things I'm gonna do is I'm going to introduce this new quiz through a live Stream. It's gonna be a short livestream. I'm not doing a lengthy one like we're doing tonight. It's gonna be a short livestream where I'm talking about How I set the quiz up and why I think it's beneficial to take. And then that video that I'm gonna create live, I'm also then going to Package that and edit it. Mama mommy La la, I'm gonna edit it. Okay.

Tanya Smith [00:54:39]:
I'm gonna challenge you to edit your stuff. You need to challenge me to edit my But I am going to edit this video, and I'm gonna turn it into a promotional video that I can then share on the page where the quiz will be. So How can you do that? Can you do a product or a service launch? Whether it's a free product or a free service or a paid service or a paid product. But can you do that? Think about that for your own business. Is there a way that you can actually launch a live Dream that does that. I know. Right? Mommy La la said, go, Tanya. Well, I'm telling you, go too, girl.

Tanya Smith [00:55:18]:
We're just gonna keep each other supported on that. Oh, and John mentioned I love writing my learn live streaming newsletter on LinkedIn. Yeah. Erica also said that LinkedIn newsletters are amazing. So that is absolutely an option. Think about that. Now Newsletters, they do take some time, so you do wanna put effort into making sure that they're going to be worthy. I just Promise you, I can tell you right off the bat, the reason why I suck at emails and I have for a long time is because I often tie my own Tongue.

Tanya Smith [00:55:54]:
Have you ever found yourself not being able to speak because you're just kinda tongue tied? So I often find myself second guessing, well, what do I really wanna say, and Are they gonna care? So the person to go to resource, Liz Wilcox is the email queen. If you need to know how to actually put email sequences together or just to create an email every week and it's not a full newsletter, she's the one for that. But, yeah, definitely, we should be check checking out LinkedIn newsletters because I've heard a lot of people talking about those. There's a buzz around LinkedIn newsletters. At the same time, be mindful that you don't over commit yourself because you're already creating videos and other types of things. Yeah. It is an excellent tool. It is an excellent way to present a new product.

Tanya Smith [00:56:45]:
Now here's another idea too, Radiance by Retellia. You just made me think of this. One of the things that you can do when you're actually doing a product or a service launch is you can add your QR code to the scene. K. Because everybody's so used to putting links up. But now, right now, in the last I don't know. Probably the last year or so, Y'all QR codes have made a big comeback. They've been around for a long time, but for a while, people weren't using them.

Tanya Smith [00:57:14]:
Now I'm seeing them everywhere. So a QR code is really handy because you put that QR code up on your screen, and then people can just, like, use their phone, which they may be using anyway and just, like, click it and go to the link that you're sending them to. Now Stephanie Garcia, who I love, Recently did a show about another tool, and I don't wanna get off topic. So I'm gonna hold back on telling you about the tool, but the tool, It has promised. And I think before the next livestream that we do, I will have it, and then I can share with you my personal experience with it. But QR codes can absolutely be a way to help you to launch that product or that service. What's up, Richard? Look. Me and Richard are gonna be hanging out y'all because Richard's gonna teach us and talk to you about cybersecurity.

Tanya Smith [00:58:07]:
So he and I are gonna be connecting real soon so we can get him on the show. I'm very excited about that. Let's see. Yep. John says I write to collect and organize my thoughts ahead of Speaking. I know, mommy. Look. I've done some QR codes with Restream.

Tanya Smith [00:58:27]:
I haven't done them yet using my Ecamm presentation. So, like, tonight, the plan was look. The plan was That I was gonna have my handy dandy QR code up and ready for y'all. But then, like I said, life kinda got in the way. But I will have them ready and ready to put up. Now Restream, the reason why I mentioned that is because in Restream, You can't you don't have to go out and create your own QR code, and I'm praying and hoping that one day, Ecamm will do this too. Feature request. But In Restream, you literally can go in.

Tanya Smith [00:59:04]:
You can connect your Amazon store if you have 1, or even if you don't. If there are links that you want to share with QR code, you just type the link in, and Restream creates the QR code to put up on screen for you. You're welcome. Alright. Yeah. They really have made such a comeback. People are using these. And you can create, you can actually generate QR codes inside of Google Chrome, and you can create them easily inside of Canva too and then Upload them into your Ecamm Live.

Tanya Smith [00:59:40]:
And, of course, John uses I know you use OBS. Mommy, I have put it out there, and I think Kirk Nugent put it out there too. So trust. They know I'm just ready for them to get that thing done. We need them. You can bring QR codes as overlays in most streaming software. Yes. You can.

Tanya Smith [01:00:01]:
Because it's an image. Right? So if you create a QR code in Canva and maybe I need to do a demo of this at some point. Man, I've Come up with at least 5 ideas since I've been talking to y'all. That's crazy. Five ideas that I'm making mental note of. I gotta go back and watch my own transcript. I pulled them, but we need to do a demo showing you how to actually do this to create a QR code in Canva and then pulling it over into the live. So If you would be interested in that, let me know, and we'll do a show on it.

Tanya Smith [01:00:34]:
Alright. Okay. Let's get ready to wrap up because we have number 10 to showcase. So let me pop that 1 up, and then we'll be ready to close things out. Number 10. I like this idea. Community spotlights. Highlight someone in your community or a loyal customer.

Tanya Smith [01:00:53]:
It's a way to give back and show appreciation, plus it can foster a sense of community. So you may not know know this, but I have a community called Stream Bosses Academy, and I love, love, love the members in that space. I love them. And when I say that, I love that I get to create a space where I feel good and the people who are with me feel good and feel not only Elevated because of the knowledge that they're gaining, but also elevated on a personal level. Like, we become friends. We get connected. And so one of the things that I did in the past, and I have to think about how to do this, is I did a spotlight playlist. I think the playlist is still on my YouTube channel, on my 1st page, but the spotlight of each of the different members who volunteered, who were ready to do to talk a little bit about their business.

Tanya Smith [01:01:49]:
And it wasn't even about me getting a testimonial from them. So this is different. K. The community spotlight is solely focused on members in your community, or it could be Just, you know, focus about the community itself where you're doing kind of a showcase of here are some of the features and the benefits. This is how the community is structured. This is why I think it might be great for you. Right? But if you're doing those spotlights of members, Not only are you uplifting, you know, your own brand by showcasing, because they're gonna obviously talk about how they love being a part of your community, But you're also giving them a chance to shine. You're letting them talk about their services and what they offer And how they got started and why they're passionate about it.

Tanya Smith [01:02:36]:
Right? So I do love member lights and community spotlights as an idea. Aw. Adele, I do love you too. Y'all are so amazing, Nicolette. You know what? I am just blessed with the best membership ever. I'm blessed with so many amazing people. Let's see. An idea Roy said that I haven't put to use Is what Pat Flynn does is replying to comments using Shorts or Reels.

Tanya Smith [01:03:13]:
Yes. And in TikTok, you can Apply. Yeah. In all of the different spaces, you can now pretty much reply with a short video, which is kinda cool because it's way more personal than you simply just Commenting, great. Thanks for the comment. How is that? That's pretty cool. Screenshot Your streaming layout and take it into your graphic software of choice and design your overlays. Okay.

Tanya Smith [01:03:41]:
I think, and I I'm not sure. I'm trying to make the connection back to something I said and why you put that there. Was that about the QR codes, John, or something else? Screenshot your streaming layout. Take it into your graphics. Okay. Oh, okay. So that is absolutely an idea. Somebody may have had a question about that, about overlays.

Tanya Smith [01:04:04]:
I love that idea. That would be really cool. Let's see. You were talking about QR codes. Okay. Very nice. Very nice. You know what? That's a great idea.

Tanya Smith [01:04:19]:
Yeah. Because you could have a QR code Next to every piece of design or I mean I mean, device or equipment that you have in that layout in that scene, And then you pop that scene up. I see what you're saying. Yeah. Golden nugget. I think that was a nugget. Let me pop that up. Hold up, John, I love that idea.

Tanya Smith [01:04:43]:
Very sweet idea. Okay. I'm gonna run back through them, but first, I'm gonna check and see. And I apologize again, y'all. The The chest the coughing is real. Okay. 6 through 10. Is there anything out of 6 through 10 that you can see yourself implementing.

Tanya Smith [01:05:05]:
So several of you came up with some with 1 idea from numbers 1 through 5. So is there anything from 1 through And that you feel like, hey. This is something I could probably work on and implement within the next 24 hours. I'm gonna start working on it Even if you don't finish, but in the next 24 hours. That's what I wanna challenge you to do is to pick something from our list 1 through 10. So this is 6 through 10, and I'm gonna go back through. It is an excellent idea, isn't it, Erica, that John shared that was. Okay.

Tanya Smith [01:05:40]:
I'm gonna go back on the page. Let's find that page, and we're gonna go all the way Back to number 1 through 10 so that you can see them all, and I just want you to pick 1. That's all I'm challenging you to do is Choose 1 idea to walk away with. What's that idea going to be? That's my question and my challenge for you. So let's quickly walk back through them. Okay. So we had number 1, behind the scenes tour, where you're showcasing the inner workings of your business Or your personal life if you feel inclined to do so, and it gives people more insight into how you think and who you are. You're so welcome, mommy.

Tanya Smith [01:06:21]:
Number 2, interviews with experts. Another excellent idea. Just remember that you're vetting the people that you're gonna bring onto your stage, and we said that a couple of times, live q and a sessions where you're answering questions. And even if you don't have an audience yet, There are ways to research and to find out what are the common questions that people are asking in my industry, and how can I create a video that will talk about the answer to that question? Number 4, demonstrations or tutorials. So showing how a specific service is performed or offering Tutorials on how to use different tools or software, all of these absolutely absolutely. Number 5, customer testimonials And stories like real stories from real people to help differentiate them and you from being Autopilot and bots. Right? People love real live social proof. Number 6, or monthly news roundup so you can do those newsletters.

Tanya Smith [01:07:24]:
We talked about that. Challenges and solutions, a common challenge that's been faced in the industry. What would work for you? Is there something that you can help people to get through by sharing a livestream about it? Number 8, interactive workshops. So hosting a workshop where you teach a skill or a strategy that's relevant to your industry, And maybe you're collecting emails. Probably, preferably, you should be collecting emails, y'all, because you're building up Your community on your land and not the rented space. Okay? Number 9, product or service launches, introducing your new services or updates in real time, and we talked about using QR codes and then community spotlights where you're highlighting people in your community or even loyal customers to give back and show appreciation, and you're letting them take the mic. Right? They are taking the mic, and they are talking about themselves and their business and what they do. Because it doesn't always have to be all about you all the time on your show.

Tanya Smith [01:08:32]:
I love being able To showcase other people and to spotlight them. Let me pull up a couple of really quick comments because I love to see what you're going to do. Okay. So much golden nuggets today from John and Tanya. I know, John. You always offer so much value. You. I love when you're here and when you're able to be here with us.

Tanya Smith [01:08:53]:
Love number 10. So number 10 was the community spotlight. Absolutely. Especially because you host communities for virtual summiteers. Right? So people who are looking to actually create virtual events and summits is what Erika Bates' expertise is, so definitely connect with her if you're interested in doing your own virtual event or summit. But, yeah, you could have community spotlights where people are talking about how you've created an event for them. The number 7, hey. Good to see you in here.

Tanya Smith [01:09:24]:
Number 7 works well as there are so many challenges in your parenting industry. I can absolutely see that. We were talking about parenting and talking about educators and all kinds of things this week in my Stream Bosses Academy training night. Yeah. There's challenges. And that that could take up shoot. You could have a whole year's worth, 365 days worth of challenges that you talk about in a live video. Let's see.

Tanya Smith [01:09:52]:
He spoke fashion. What's up? I'm so glad you joined, and I'm so glad that you got the benefit of bible study as well. Watch the replay to get up to speed. We're making some changes, but there's gonna be some really cool stuff coming up, and it's more about Ensuring that you have access to options, right, that will help you to really go all in on your not only your live Streaming efforts, but incorporating video as more of a central part of your marketing strategy. That's what I wanna encourage you to do because I don't feel that video is going anywhere anytime soon. And I honestly do believe this from the bottom of my heart, The video can be one of the best and most critical ways for people to really connect with you on a heart level right now. Because they get to see you. They get to see that smile.

Tanya Smith [01:12:21]:
They get to feel your enthusiasm through the camera. They get to know you, like you, and trust you. And all of those things can lead to sales, but even more importantly, they can lead to strong, sustainable relationships. And to me, that's really an important critical part of just having a business. I don't wanna just have a business just to have a business. I wanna have a business because I am making An impact, and it's hopefully changing people's lives for the better. And I bet that's you too because you're in a service industry. So, yes, smash that like button.
